This last weekend we were able to spend it in Nuremberg! We've gone several times into the city so this isn't like its a new thing for us. But we had fun spending the time with friends and doing a little shopping. The shopping in Nuremberg is amazing and even though I have this thing called guilt every time I want to spend money, its still fun to look.
We started the weekend with a night out with our friends, David and Marylin Auras. We went to this cute little Italian place just outside the city and enjoyed a nice cool evening out on the patio. The food was great and super cheap. I ordered a big plate of ravioli for just 3 euros! The other three got a huge family sized pizza. The downside is that it usually takes between 30 to 45 minutes to get food at these places (meaning most restaurants in Germany)... I guess thats why you don't tip here. After dinner we went to the Cina Cita (pronounced Cheena cheeta) where Inception was playing in English. It was packed but luckily the Auras' got tickets before hand so Jordan and I got to snuggle up on one of the love seats (yes, they have love seats in this movie theater!! Love it). We loved the movie... Its the best one I've seen this year I think and we got home close to two a.m.
Saturday we slept in and like every Saturday, went to the bakery for breakfast. Have I mentioned how much I love the bakeries here?! They just might be my favorite thing about this place. So later in the afternoon David, Marylin, and their seven month old Jonathan picked us up to go back to Nuremberg. We walked through the old town and went to see the catacombs underneath the old city hall which are 700 years old! So crazy. We saw all the different cells and torcher chambers. All the torcher devices left in the chambers are from the 1300's which is pretty amazing. After seeing the catacombs we went and did a little shopping. Jordan and I bought some things for our moms (I can't really say what they are exactly but I know my mom and mom-in-law with love them!) and looked around at some of the other shops. Overall it was a really fun day! I'm so grateful for the wonderful friends we've made here!! I'm really going to miss everyone.
Tonight we're going to game night as usual but there's going to be a chocolate fountain!! I'm pretty excited about it. Game night has kind of turned into Warewolf night (warewolf is a game that is like Mafia only better... we recently bought it off of amazon!) because so many people come now. We usually start out with a crowd of 12 to 13 people but tonight is the last game night for several people that usually come so it will be sad to see them go. But we only have three weeks left here so soon we'll be gone too. I'm getting anxious about going home. Its been an amazing experience but we are getting tired of traveling, I want to finally be settled into a new apartment and start getting ready for the baby. That will be my focus from the time we get home to the time our little boy gets here.
Speaking of baby, I'm 27 weeks along now!! That means third trimester!! I've heard that from here on it just gets more fun... fun like back pain and trouble sleeping and swelling in my legs and hands... fun fun FUN! haha I love being pregnant at the moment though. Looking in the mirror and seeing my growing belly... I feel so huge but that part will only get better too. Sitting on the couch in the mornings watching my stomach jump and twitch. Trying to figure out if thats a foot or a fist or just a roll that I'm feeling. I love it all. I don't think I'll be saying that in two more months so I better just love it while I can. I just can't wait until my baby gets here!!!
